No Education ist eine Gegenwehr. Fixiert auf kulturelle Bildung unterschätzen wir häufig, was ein Mensch, also auch ein Kind, an Fähigkeiten und Intuition mitbringt. Dazu gehört auch, die Sprache der Kunst zu verstehen. Ohne Sinnzwang und mit Gefühl für ihre Vielfalt und ihre Ordnung. Die Schönheit einer Partitur, eine Landschaft der Empfindung, die Brüche und Stufen einer Erzählung – No Education basiert auf der Beobachtung, dass Kinder, Jugendliche und Erwachsene gleichermaßen offen sind für solche Wahrnehmungen. Schluss mit den ›adults only‹-Bezirken!

Es gibt keinen Grund, einem Zuschauer Komplexität zu ersparen. Und sei er noch so klein. Gerade eine Überforderung kann die Wurzel eines tiefen Eindrucks sein. Die Aufführungen der Ruhrtriennale sind so ausgewählt, dass das Wechselspiel zwischen Musik, Theater, Tanz, Performance, Video und Architektur ohne Bildung und Vorkenntnisse zu erleben ist.

Unser Alltag ist an Communities und Instanzen gebunden, die oft statisch voneinander getrennt sind: Familie, Beruf, Schule, Club, Clique oder Festival. Denken, Fühlen und Handeln ereignen sich an unterschiedlichen Orten. Doch erst im Zusammenspiel dieser Fähigkeiten zeigt sich die sinnliche Flexibilität, die Menschen besitzen.

No Education will für Bewegung zwischen den gewohnten Grenzen sorgen. No Education- Projekte zielen nicht auf ein Ergebnis ab. Sie gehen gelassen davon aus, dass man nicht immer zu einer Lösung kommen muss. No Education ist Nachricht von der Utopie. No education is self-defense. As obsessed as we are about cultural education, we often underestimate what a human being, a child, can bring in terms of capabilities and intuitions. This includes understanding the language of art, with no compulsion for there to be a meaning and with a sense of its variety and order. No Education is based on the observation that children, young people, and adults are equally open for such perceptions. No more ›adults only‹ zones!

There is no reason to protect spectators from complexity, no matter how young they might be. Overtaxing the audience can be the root of a profound impression. The performances of the Ruhrtriennale are chosen to promote an interaction among music, theater, dance, performance, video, and architecture with no education or prior knowledge.

Our everyday life is tied to communities and authorities that are often statically separated from one another: family, professional life, school, club, clique, or festival. Thinking, feeling, and acting take place in various locations. Yet it is only in the ensemble of these activities that the sensory flexibility of humanity reveals itself. No Education seeks to generate movement between the customary boundaries. No Education projects do not seek to obtain any result, instead postulating that a solution is not always required.
